My Style
I am an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor, this means that I am trained to combine multiple therapeutic styles to create a tailored and collaborative approach. If you want to learn more about Integrative Therapy, you could start by looking at the BACP website: https://www.bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/types-of-therapy/integrative-counselling/
I believe that each of my clients are unique, so I adapt the therapy to fit your own preferences and goals to ensure that you get the most out of our sessions. I empower you to make choices about what will work best for you, and we regularly review the work that we are doing together.
I draw on different counselling modalities and techniques such as Person Centred Counselling, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. My style acknowledges how complex and individual our experiences can be.
I have a deeply relational approach, I think the human connection between therapist and client is key to the therapeutic process being successful. I have a very down to earth approach, bringing my authentic self to our therapeutic relationship. My hope is that through our work together you are able to understand how past experiences shape present emotional and relational patterns, and explore these patterns safely within the therapeutic relationship. This could help you to form a deeper sense of self, learn to trust your own feelings and gain the tools to lead a more fulfilling life and form healthier relationships in your life, both with others and yourself.
I aim to provide a space where you feel able to be your true self, without fear of judgement.
